Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

The KS campaign went very smoothly and they were quick to respond if I had any questions about the game! The production value is fantastic as well! Happy to have this game.

For years now, I've been looking for the one board game that distills the intricate strategy of MOBAs into an engaging tabletop experience. Skytear does that, and so much more. It's inviting enough on its face that first-timers should have no trouble grasping the mechanics, yet deep enough at its core that advanced players will find something new each time they bring this to the table. Everything in Skytear begs for experimentation: from the hero powers, to the draft, to the team-building, deck-building, and cunning card play - this game stands alone at the pinnacle of the MOBA board game genre. This is the easiest 10-star rating I've ever given.

Felt less like a MOBA and more like a brawler. Most of the things I like about MOBAs aren't really there, like building as the game develops to adapt to your strategy and what your opponents are doing. The game does snowball badly like a MOBA though, and if you fall behind, you're basically along for the ride until you're finished off or you can sell out completely for an objective. The lane control on the 2 lane/5 turn map was pointless because objectives can be met well before a control marker reaches a tower, which makes the base defense aspect ignorable based on what objectives are pulled. I likely need to play this on the bigger side to appreciate it more, but the 2-lane experience was very poor.
