Senjutsu is a 1-4 Player Samurai Duelling Game with slick Deck Construction mechanics, simultaneous reveal combat and beautiful miniatures from a panel of sculptors. Control 1 of 4 fearsome Samurai, warriors bound to the Bushido Code, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and motivations.
Using Senjutsu’s Deck Construction Mechanics, forge a unique deck of devastating attacks, powerful blocks, timely mediations, and dynamic special moves. The intuitive card-classifying system makes forging your Samurai’s Ability Deck easy.
The Core Box includes dozens of different Ability Cards to shape your chosen Samurai’s fighting style. There are thousands of possible deck combinations available,
– Position your Samurai on the Battlefield. – Draw a hand of Ability Cards from your 40 Card Ability Deck. – Choose an Ability Card to use and place it facedown with the opponent’s card. – Reveal the cards simultaneously and check the initiatives. – Resolve the card and its effects.
Any Samurai who takes 5 wounds will fall… leaving the vanquisher victorious.
small card-driven skirmish game with Samurai theme some nice miniatures very random (!) not much difference between characters It's irritating that there are horses in the cover art although the game is solely about foot combat.
More than one year late and still counting as there is no shipping time frame. With poor communication.
Samurai dueling game with deck construction, simultaneous action selection and miniatures. Each turn the active player will draw a new ability card. Ability cards are played face-down and revealed simultaneously in combat with the highest initiative value acting first. There are various effects that can be triggered by playing a card, such as: - movement or rotation of the miniature as indicated by arrows and rotational symbols on the card, - change Kamae (stance) according to the text on the card to move between the Kames on the Kamae tree, - attacking within the specified hexes, - blocking within the specified hexes, - parrying and making a counter move by playing a suitable attack card in response. The Kamae tree and Kame Ring system provide each Samurai with a tactical way to gain bonuses from the Ability Cards. The four Kames are the gateway Kamae which has no benefits, a defensive kamae, a balance kamae, and an aggressive kamae. Being in a specific Kamae in the Kamae tree when the cards are revealed will enhance Ability Card effects or enhance the way the card can be played. Each Block card has a range of initiative values from which to choose from. A block is successful if the initiative is matched with the opponent's attack. Any Samurai who takes 5 wounds will lose leaving the vanquisher victorious.
