On an ocean world, even enemies must play fair. You and your rival compete for control of the four flotillas, the last remnant of old Earth. Strike cunning deals, build stable ground, and clean the ocean. Then, you will truly lead Seastead!
With the survival of humanity in the balance, sabotaging your rival outright would put too much at risk! So in Seastead, many of your actions will also help your opponent; you just have to make sure you don’t help them too much.
Each turn, you either dive to gain resources or build a building from your player mat with your resources. Whenever you dive, you draw a card with two different resource collections from which to choose, with the resources you don’t pick going to your opponent! When you construct a building, add it to one of the four central flotilla tiles, opening up bonuses and abilities — just try to use them before your opponent can!
Seastead contains double-sided flotilla tiles, a variety of specialist cards, and multiple building paths to create endless strategies to explore!

Interesting, if not ultimately exciting. I split you choose is a cool mechanic - but it's a bit less interesting when the 'split' is set by a card. The rest of the gameplay is fine, if nothing special.

Almost feels like it could use some engine building mechanic or more interesting ways to chain actions together.

Needs another play. I felt this one was lacking a bit and didn't give me the really cool player interdependency I have come to love from Flotilla. In fact, the player interdependency that is in here is somewhat annoying as other players get benefits when you dive, but you don't get benefits when they build (other than when they build a shipyard which could give you a small discount on a further turn). I wish the mechanic was such that when I build the only people who get benefits in the future are my opponents and vice versa. Also, it felt like we were both hanging out by ourselves with not much interaction on the various flotillas. I think we need to move the goods tokens around more. I reserve judgment until I get more plays under my belt. Interesting, but not great so far.
