The Scythe: Modular Board expansion allows you to change the landscape of Eastern Europa every time you play Scythe thanks to its double-sided game board and four large double-sided landscape tiles. Faction locations, i.e., the home base tiles, change each time you play.
The modular board adds a drafting element to set-up, along with a variant for a tighter map at lower player counts.

The building placement bonus tiles feels like it could have been a promotional pack. The board is interestign opening new opportunities up but it really isn't needed unless you play super regularly.

Generally speaking, I'd prefer to play with the expanded standard board, but I haven't tried the draft variant for this yet, which may move my opinion.

I can se this expansion fixing the main problem with Scythe: players ending up playing by script and memorizing optimized moves. Failing to abide the script will lose the game. This expansion seems to introdue variability and demands adaptability from the players. And i can see why some players hate it (having to throw their well meomorized and beloved scripts into the bin)... Well IMO, this should have been in the base game from the getgo.
