Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

From what I understand, this new version of Run, Fight, or Die!, a popular KS game from 5 years ago, streamlines some of the rules and the number of card decks. It has been a while since I played that original version. I'm pretty confident the changes have been positive because the game feels almost exactly the same as the original. The game is luck-driven, not very challenging, with absolute down time between turns, and a general air boredom prevails. I think a lot of folks enjoy this as a solo game, which eliminates the down time problem and would improve the boredom part. I'm not a fan of Yahtzee dice mechanics, so this is absolutely not in my wheel house. But when you decide to attend a Meet Up, you generally play what is thrown on the table. As for some more objective impressions - the art work is decent, the minis are dreadful, it is an easy game to teach, and I recommend never playing this with more than three players.

Best on 2 More players add downtime and makes the game significantly longer, making it overstay its welcome.
