A better, bloodier, mad maxiet Kemet. Post Apoc theme really works here. Decisions are tight, combat is brutal without being too random. Clever plays are rewarded with cool combos from cards and powers. Art is excellent with some really great minis. Card quality could be better and would have liked to have seen engraved dice but other than that, excellent game.

Ruination delivers on its promise of maximum conflict. Even two player games involve settling fights every other turn. Though the dice-driven combat system is fun and feels unique, it’s also clunky and time consuming. No more than two players are ever involved in a conflict, so those without a dog in the fight are left out to watch. The artwork (from Roland’s Revenge) is splendid and the production is solid. Still, Ruination feels more like a good swing than a base hit.

Zee's #3 Upcoming 2021 - Which I got! It's a cool Dudes on a Map wargame. Really enjoying it. We only played with two players so far though.
