Plague Inc.: The Board Game

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.
Take That
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

A really solid expansion for an already excellent game. Adds 2 more disease types as well as various other bits and bobs to improve variability. Also adds the option to play with 5 people. Doesn't change the formula but just adds more of all that goodness. Also, there is a negative review here claiming this game costs $40. It really doesn't (unless you kickstarted it for the premium box). You can pick this up for around $15-18, which is more than fair.

Adds in some extra variety with the various card decks and disease types. The fifth player I could take or leave.

Great add-ons...play with a 5th player, new types of diseases to play as (Bio-Weapon & Fungus), replacement countries: Brexit Britain (no longer a part of Europe), Global Warming Greenland (replacing its cold climate with hot climate), Population Boom India (with 2 additional population spaces), Isolationist USA (no longer has air ports or harbors), Walled Off Mexico (now a part of South America), and Ageing Japan (with half as many population spaces as before, 6 reduced to 3), and other new traits and events. If you don't have this expansion, you'll be fine, but if you love the base game, this is more of the same!
