I really enjoyed my first co-op experience with the Pandemic system. It was a two player gaming session and we won both times (though barely in the harder, second game). The game flows well and the deck manipulation that intensifies the diseases is a genius mechanic. The roles are all a little different and require some adjustment of strategies. I'm glad I started with this historical variation as that definitely helped me with my engagement.

Gets rid of the monotony of base Pandemic, at least, without being as absurd as The Cure. That said, card sharing is much harder in this one and it seems like you basically have to have the railroad guy in the game to win, and the luck of the draw is more important.

Best implementation of the Pandemic System. Pros: -Water tokens let you mitigate the luck of the draw. -Rail system lets you strategize. -Art and graphic design are good. Some of its limitations: -Setting up the deck by sections is a bit fiddly. -An expansion is highly desirable but does not exist. -Some can consistently beat the game with all difficulty settings tuned up, so there is a reachable ceiling. Of course, it is not a super deep game, but a light-ish one, so one has to be aware of that. Alternatives: -Other coop disaster management games include Spirit Island, Eldritch Horror, The Ratcatcher and Flash Point: Fire Rescue.
