Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Some board games incorporate elements of role playing. It can be that players control a character that improves over time. It can also be a game that encourages or inspires storytelling.
Role Playing
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

An amazing game, easy to pick up and fun. I enjoy the intrigue that builds up, slowly weaving your plans together to undermine your opponents and catapult yourself forward.

Cyberpunk/Shadowrun in a box...well in a box in 90min. Good, maybe a little one-tracked design, and some parts don't quite feel right, but this is exactly what I wanted, being a runner in a box, looking to see if they ever expand this.

Played solo first game with Agent as opponent and went well. I love the mission cards with the multiple paths to resolve the challenges. The AI does a good job of throwing a wrench in your plans a significant amount of the time. The flavor text on the cards adds just the right amount of depth to give this a nice RPG feel. After a couple more plays on the solo game, I started to get a sense of how I could win this one. Unfortunately right as I realized this I lost the game due to a combination of being deeply in debt to the Euromafia and being beaten up by anti-cyberware extremists on the mean streams of Birmingham...lol...better luck next time :) This is a daily solo game for me. Pretty quick once you get the rules down. Loving it and inching closer to winning with each play. Finally won the solo game on the 5th play through. It's a nice system and quick once you learn it. The rulebook is clear but some of the rules for solo play around using the Agent mechanics could use some explanation with clearer examples. It's fine and I figured it out or intuited what the best way to run it would be in any case, so didn't reduce my appreciation or enjoyment of the game.
