Cute little worker placement game, lacks depth and originality. More kingdom buildings should grant bonuses, Doloran's mechanic takes away from the strategy of the game. Coop with less than 4 players might work better when using the four heroes nonetheless. It's an okay intro level worker placement game for fans of Ni No Kuni II.

The game is aesthetcially beautiful and extremely good quality. It may seem a bit complicated with everything that comes in the box but once you get it all organized and laid out it's very simple to follow and play. My only gripe is that it's an extremely short game. The 30 minute playtime on the box is definitely true, and it almost takes as long to set up as it does to beat. That said it's a fun, easy to pick up game with beautiful art and quality.

Ni No Kuni II: The Board Game is a fairytale game, in which heroes embark on a battle to save the kingdom. They have to deflect enemy raids from many sides, try to accomplish quests, build a kingdom and spread its influence. Only with spreading word can they ultimately drive away the growing danger, whether they choose one or the other boss. Ni No Kuni II is not a flawless or absolute experience, but instead excels as a relaxed family fun, in which children and parents can work together and love doing so.
