This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Rulebook is too long for the simplicity of the gameplay. The game isn't even that interesting, and the events are overly unforgiving. Gameplay itself is too much luck-based. If you enjoy dice games then this is going to be fun for you, but do note that only 2 or 3 sides of the dice matter, the others don't, and there's barely no mitigation, and even if there was it's hard as hell to get to that point. Update 3-19-2020: After reaching Tribal for the first time, the game suddenly changes dramatically. You have different goals, your people don't die as much, and now you want to raise animals and build tools. It's like playing an entirely different game. I now highly recommend this game just for the fact that the shift in gameplay is really steep once your player board flips over.
