This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

It has some clever concepts (the decisions regardng the placement and discribution of mobsters are pretty interesting, although pretty random due to the die rolling involved), but as a whole it's too long. I mean - it FEELS long and the moves you make during the three rounds feel repetitive. The problem is that only the final state of the board matters for the scoring purposes and I felt the decisions I made during round one didn't really matter all that much since there were so many counter-moves happening later on. I didn't hate the experience, it was just MEH. There are tons of better 2-player games out there.

✔️What we like >> Tight back and forth as you jockey for control of areas and adjust the value of locations to benefit you. Although your options are confined each turn by the dice roll, you do have interesting decisions based on how you allocate the rolls. Action board provides a lot of ways to tweak things in your favor. Fancy components, even the retail edition. Bluffing element adds some intrigue. ❌What we dislike >> Because setup is the same every time and every turn follows the same structure, there’s not a lot of variety from game to game. Could use some small mini-expansions or modules to add long-term variance. Theme does come through, though it may be too violent and crime-focused for some people; not one we’d play with kids for that reason. Check this out if… you need to prove you’re the boss around here Our verdict >> If the theme doesn’t bother you, you’ll find this to be a very tight, cohesive tug-of-war with plenty of tension Read more two-player game reviews at https://www.instagram.com/2player_boardgame_reviews/

So far so good, is it better than Capo Dei Capi? Don't know, but it is different. I don't consider this a re-implementation of that game.
