In Action Point (AP) Allowance System games, each player is allotted a certain amount of points per round. These points can be spent on available actions, until the player does not have enough remaining to "purchase" any more actions.
Action Point Allowance System
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances

After a video review: Once I first heard of the game, and how it should work, I was not very impressed and had low expectations from it. Now that I had an idea of the rules, it's a shame that first the game is long and boring, and that the game is in my point of view over produced because the boss miniatures have actually no use. So it raises the price for no good reasons. If you want to put mini, why not make a tactical free for all robot fighting game, think HeroScape with Mega Man mini. That would have worked. Anyways, for the mechanics of the game, the dice system is semi interesting. The play cards mechanism on your self and your opponents is just to much. The do X challenge in a row to reach the boss, is long and repetitive. The same idea could have been approached differently. Look at elder sign task system, something like that could have worked and would have been resolved much more faster. The beat 2 boss to beat willy, and beat willy twice simply makes no sense at all. In fact, there is no reason to play this game with more than 1 players, the only alternative I would have seen is to have a 2 player game with Mega Man and Proto Man that works as a Team to defeat the 8 bosses. As a mega Man fan, I would have loved to have a nice game, and considering it's not a super popular franchise, I cannot simply wait for the next game, as there might not be any.

I'll agree with other reviews that it is long, but it is fun so I don't care. To me atmospherically it feels like playing the video game. Definitely worth getting for the figurines alone too.

I own it and will probably never get rid of it simply because it's Mega Man, but let's be honest: it's definitely as bad as everyone says.
