Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Wants to be the next Azul, clearly. But I don't think it will get there. Grabbing tiles using the PICK action is the most interesting aspect of the game but you don't know what patterns you will be revealing - only the colors. So, where Azul has some serious interaction, control, and forward-planning in the tile draft, Mandala Stones has little to none. The tower scoring works but feels a bit forced. Looks nice on the table but it is multiplayer solitaire to an extreme.

Tries to be Azul but falls short. Just felt kind of boring overall. I love the components and the idea, and the game is solid enough, but there is just a lack of depth I think? Hard to put my finger on it.
