Technically I only own half of this (the druid half) and its bloody amazing. The base mages in Mage wars were good but the druid is just awesome. Spreading vines around the map and sprouting creatures all over the place is completely my play style.

2015-01-28 Initial Rating: 9.0 (January 2015) It took a long time for me to play Mage Wars again, but it seems I have found a new game partner for this purpose. As I love Mage Wars (a Top Ten game for me) it is no wonder I enjoy this expansion, the art continues to be top notch and the new spells are very fun to play with. Love the new oblitarate and corrode mechanisms. The new mages are awesome, but I feel they are, somewhat, slow so I’m not sure how they compare with the other mages. I love the necromancer and his “hard to kill” zombies, the Druid is also fun to play with, her style is very different from any other mage. Bottom line, a great expansion, better for me than Forcemaster vs. Warlord. Current Rating: 9.0 [hr] 2022-02-09 Last year, I downgraded Mage Wars´ rating. I still love the game and I don’t think I will ever get rid of it, but it is way too long so it is very hard for it to hit the table. Due to this, my desire to play the game again isn’t as high as before so I´m also downgrading all the game´s expansions. Current Rating: 7.0

After the variety of spells in the base set I was a little shocked at the number of duplicates in the beginner spell books and the cards in their entirety. That really was the only disappointment and it might be unfair for me to be rating this as a 9, when it still feels like a 10 in play. God I love Mage Wars.
