Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

First impression Might need to play this more to confirm it but the available strategies for this game seems quite limited. Hidden pieces (cards in this case) is always a compelling mechanism in board games for me, but this one falls a bit short.

Nice production values and neat ideas, especially the Dieselpunk version ... but what the game boils down to is a lucky roll of the dice. There’s a bit you can do to mitigate that ... but the game can end suddenly despite your careful positioning... just like that.

A fantastic anime-themed 2-player game Jeff brought out once. Would love to play more of this, but not often in a 2-player situation.
