The Campaign/Battle Card Driven mechanic is a relatively recent development in war games that focuses the players' actions on cards they have in their hand. The very basic idea is that performing a single action uses a single card. Games where cards are used to determine the outcome of battles do not use this mechanic.
Campaign / Battle Card Driven
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

I've currently played 1 game of this on Tabletop Simulator and I enjoyed it. It's sitting at 7 right now as we played it competitively with 2 players and I think it will rise when I play it Co-op next week. Right now the game plays like a solid streamlined DnD experience with clear goals and objectives but the way you succeed can absolutely differ each game. I Would recommend playing it if you get the chance.

Pros: Easy to pick up and go. Learning the game was about a 10-15 minute endeavor Good art. Captured the fantasy element well. Cons: Feels like a solo game, even with 5 players Some badly/unclearly written mechanics Very little story. Character backgrounds were tropey with no real reason to go after the bosses. Locations had mechanics attached, but not story, which in my opinion was the biggest miss of the game. It was like Above and Below with the flesh removed.
