Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

A truly masterpiece remastered. Everything is better here. The components are gorgeous and all modules functions very well alone or togheter. Really cool

played with the 3rd module (character card), buildings are nice but the rewards from main board are boring (mostly gold)

The real strategy in this game comes down to looking at what dice your opponents rolled and considering what you think they might choose. Sometimes you might opt to place a dice specifically because you want to block an opponent or secure a spot before they do first. The decisions are interesting and resources are tight. You seem to always never quite have enough to build everything you want. After the first play, this leaves a feeling like you want to play it again now that you better understand what is important to go for. There could even be some light bluffing in this game if some people peek at the boss and some don't because they could play it up and try and get the opponent to think the boss is something different than it is. Overall, this is a really neat game although the theme felt a bit thin to me. Maybe this is one that would benefit from using expansions to spice it up?
