Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

Rated after 4 games - will revisit to gut check this later. Adventure part is fun and the wife and I love chucking and manipulating dice.

This is such a hard game to rate. It's like reading a book where you're only allowed to read one paragraph every 30 minutes. But you really want to know where the story goes and enjoy those paragraphs. I enjoyed the ship book. I dislike the planet play, as it was just frustrating and repetitive. I finished the campaign, but my wife stopped playing 3 planets in, so the rest was solo. Solo is probably how the game should be played, as the ship book is a whole series of steps and interactions that only one person can realistically do. Second half of the game I played just to get through the story; on the planets, I ended up just using my dice as if I rolled what I wanted. It was enough to go through the experiences on the planet and the small story each planet told. I think campaign games and I don't mix.
