Great expansion, adds some needed updates for the base game and cranks up the difficulty for more experienced players to enjoy. Component quality is a bit lacking, cards are made from different paper than the ones in the main game, and overall they feel a lot cheaper but decent sleeves take care of that problem. Fits nicely in the core box, even when everything is sleeved. If you are the fan of base game this expansion is a must have!

This expansion adds more goodness to the base game, for die-hard Harry Potter fans: one more playable character (Luna Lovegood), many more Locations and a new tipe of enemy (Creatures), in 4 new boxes of cards to open and discover. The difficulty level feels higher, or at least on par with the latest years of the base game.

Continuation from review of base game... Theme: Again, I am disappointed. Probably more so this time. Some of the illustrated pictures are horrible. Some of the decisions are also poor. Grawp and Norbert as enemies? Filch and Karkaroff as Allies?? Also, merging the base game with this expansion feels forced. If you are using a very well-known franchise, the way characters are discovered and interacted with matter... Just bad. Overall, bad. Gameplay: Some of the interactions are overly hard for no reason. Again, randomness has a lot to do with this. House rules have to added to make the very beginning manageable before locations fall. If you have to use house rules, there is a problem... Also, the quality of cards is substantially different, so bad that you can tell what set you are about to draw. Overall, this game feels like it would have been better as a standalone product. Everything feels forced when merging the two. Quality is poor compared to the original.
