Easy to learn Great components and figures A lot more to the strategy than appears at first - tricky to master.. I would've given it 8 stars, except that it really does need extra warbands to get the most out of it and that always annoys me when games do that... Starter set is fine with 1 warband each, but it explodes to another level when you get 2 each and probably peaks at 3 per side! These two warbands are very much asymmetric in their abilities, but pretty well balanced overall. (Also posted on GODTEAR)

I love the subtle manuuvering and low piece count, allowing you to really focus on a few complex units. But then the dice are so random that that subtlety is lost. And all those complex units make it really easy to make a mistake which completely changes the game and makes it unsatisfying. So, I really really want to like this game, but I don't.

Gorgeous game from the Guild Ball guys. So far only tried 1v1 but apparently the 3v3 mode (factions, not players) is really good and still fast?
