This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Has some interesting ideas but ultimately the downsides kill it for me. Things I like - Artwork is great, graphic design is nice, love the colors on the board and the cards look nice. I like the varying scoring cards that work off each other in the late game. The Relic tokens are REALLY fun and each one is good. Things I dislike - There's just a lot of almost pointless fluff in the game. The first council phase is one of these things. The following supply phase is ALMOST great. I like how the highest bidder gets two selections but at the loss of most of their personnel or credits. That said, the bidding is so sloppy in this game since players are fiddling with these little tokens for their workers and the credit tokens trying to hide them so no one else can see what they are bidding. The action phase is basic b***h worker placement. Half the placements are identical, just a differing deck of cards. Speaking of the cards, the setup of this game is horrendously long. All those decks and some of them need to be ordered in a specific way, not to mention all the tokens that need to be placed on the board. The way the first player token is auctioned is also KINDA neat but at the same time ultimately feels "off" with how the tie breaker token just passes back and forth. No real relation between them but I almost feel they should switch positions. The buildings you can build is a neat idea but again, they are ALMOST great. All they do is gain you an extra 1 resource every round, which, IS useful....BUT it's so bland! I wish you could upgrade them to make them better and it would be SO EASY! Just flip the building tile after paying a certain amount of resources for the upgrade and now that building produces more, or even better, has some unique ability pertaining to each specific nation. Speaking of the nations, that's another miss. They are slightly different based on their worker numbers and relic building prestige bonus but that's it. Could have had something truly interesting with variable nation powers, perhaps through the buildings! The last thing is just the random confusing verbiage in the rulebook and reference cards. For the final scoring on the reference cards it lays out how to score the differing placements on the prestige track and says to split the points and round up......but the points are all even numbered....what am I supposed to round up to? The two player rule for creating a block token is just bad. Each player places an unused nations "Ambassador" (it specifies that) token on a worker space to block it for the upcoming round.....I understand what they are trying to accomplish here by creating more conflict on worker placement since there are only two players but......You have no idea what the other player is thinking or where they might even be going or what they are working on. So, what's the point again? You MIGHT get lucky and block a spot they MIGHT be going to? And what's up with it having to be an Ambassador token? What does that matter during that phase for a block since you can place it anywhere? And probably the biggest offender with this game is the lack of theme and confusing artwork. Let's say you happen upon this game in a store and it catches your eye, which it's certain to do with the awesome looking cover and title. GODSPEED with a horror-esque looking astronaut on the cover. You read the back about how the space race was a LIE! The excitement builds. Then once you start playing the theme completely vanishes as you 100% focus on grabbing cards and resources to help you move up tracks more efficiently. I mean, it's got more akin to a theme-less euro than anything. And, the title and box art make ZERO sense for the game. there's nothing scary or horrorish about the game as the title art and name implies. I would say the name and art of this game is more of a lie than the space race. Ultimately, the game just feels unfinished. Like, there are interesting ideas here but each one just feels like it needs more time in the oven.

Interesting and unique theme with easy to learn rules. Too bad the game comes down to going up (and sometimes down) 4 tracks to score end game points.

Quite enjoyed it. Pandasaurus makes good games. Kickstarter plastic pieces are fantastic. Production quality across the board are great as well
