Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Very simple card game. Decent filler that is easy teach. If you like Game of Thrones, a gamer will tolerate this-for a little while. :)

Good filler game. It is not complex but does require the player to pay attention. At $10, I enjoy the game for it's price point!

I actually really liked this game. Tonnes of randomness in the scoring, but other than that it's a solid Knizia! Even though the cards split up between different Game of Thrones families, it could be anything, including just colours, but we still had a lot of fun looking at the pictures of the different characters, while playing the game. We played with my in laws and they enjoyed the mechanics, if not the "theme', as loose as it was. It was nice that we could talk while playing. There is also some good tactics to where you play your cards, and what cards to play. Another light filler I am happy to dredge out whenever it is needed.
