I'm giving it a 2 only because Talisman exists. It's like hidden movement with no strategy. Did Dracula play well? Random cards will tell you where he is. Did the hunters corner Dracula? No matter, random cards will make him escape. Eventually someone will get lucky. Theres no tension. The third or fourth time the hunters find Dracula (the climax of most hidden movement games) you'll just roll your eyes, knowing that some cards will get played and some meaningless damage handed out. This game is meant to give the illusion of strategic play, but there's so many comeback mechanisms on both sides that nothing at all matters.

First play with work Pals, (outside of work time). We kept Drac close and in hot pursuit and got him down to 2 HP but couldn't finish him off. Good fun but thought it went on a bit too long for my liking. This might also be due to the first play for the group, which was a bit of a slog. Look forward to trying it again. I played two characters, which helped keep my interest. The fellow who played Drac did especially well considering the lack of experience and the extra stuff to manage!

Holy cow… if this game wasn’t so long it may have been better but we found Dracula turn 1 by luck and still ended up losing by bad luck. Seems very unbalanced and boring for the hunters. At least in our game. Again, length really was horrible. Took 4 hours not including the teach. If it were 2 hours it would have gotten a higher rating. After 2 hours we were all just trying to get the game over with. May not have helped that we had a Dracula that really knew what he was doing. All of us hunters felt like we barely accomplished anything after hours of playing.
