Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Keeping it at 8 for now, willing to go up 1 or down 1 with more repeat plays. While gameplay feels solid, there's a slightly too much admin and tracking for a realtime game, making it too easy to make mistakes and difficult to remember everything. In all games we made some rules mistakes due to the nature of lots of things to check, remember, read up, etc and time pressure. Learning the game with 2 plays is a great experience. Learning with 4 wasn't the best experience.

Definitely unlike anything else I've played as a real-time, co-op, dexterity game. It's a dexterity game for gamers. Not one I need to own, but I'd almost always play if asked.

This game is really fun! I've been a big fan of Escape: Curse of the Temple (a real time co op game), for many years, but I think I'm going to start reaching for For Science instead. Compared to Escape this is far less reliant on luck and my partner and I enjoy the management of the various tasks. We are also big fans of the video game Overcooked and this gave use similar feelings.
