Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

I really liked this game, a lot. But my feelings come with some caveats. I only played this at 2p, which wasn't great. But I can see how it would be amazing at more players. But I haven't actually played it at those counts. It's really unique as it's theme is. See in this game you play as fans influencing the fighters. And no, you are not just rooting for one. Instead you get some new goals every turn you are trying to make happen. Maybe you want the weakest fighter to wound the strongest. Or you want to see a double team on a particular fighter. You do all this through dice actions. There is a lot of mitigation, but as your pool shrinks so does your options. You do things like buff fighters offense and defense, effect their moral, speed and who they target. On top of that, this is bidding on what will happen in the fight. Another aspect I imagine will be funner with more. With the expansions, there is 12 fighters that are all different with a special ability. You only randomly pick 4 or 5 a game. The dice combat is a little complex, and not just hits vs defense that so many games do. And it can be a bit swingy. Which would drive me crazy if you were playing these fighters, but since we are watching a fight it's great. The art is mico, I'm not always a fan but it's great with these crazy aliens and such. There is a lot of unique art too. The minis are great, with a lot of personality. The board folds up super weird and you gotta be careful with it, but it does look great on the table. Overall I'm really impressed with this game, both in gameplay and production. I think it's gonna be so much fun with bigger groups. I think I got a good feel for it, and I do not think it's some how gonna stumble with more. It's really unique you try to manipulate a board with everyone else and wrestle with some goals you need to have happen that round. I can't recall playing anything like it. :D :D Awesome theme :D Fantastic turn to turn goal system :) Art, graphic design, and production all fantastic :) With expansions, ton of variety :soblue: Insert doesn't hold sleeved cards :soblue: People already damaging the board (careful un/folding) :soblue: Not the best with 2 players

Looks great in theory. But the game is very luck based. Players are at the mercy of their dice and the scoring cards they draw. Building a solid strategy is barely possible as you cannot plan in advance. All in all a good game design flawed by too much randomness.

Neat speculative bidding game with interesting mechanisms for influencing outcomes. The theme is completely irrelevant drivel - the real meat of this game is what matters.
