Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.
Trading
Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

collection note: includes painted leader minis, 6 each of the promo Caltrop and Calamity cards (only need 2ea), and large neoprene gameboard. special note: never back an Asychron crowdfunding project. This had a 4-year delay, twice demanded an extra 10-15 euros, and required an outside party to ensure that backers received most of items ~2 years after those items were put for retail sale.

I'll never support a project by ASYNCRON games again. They've proven themselves to be charlatans and incompetent. May 2019 - KS project funded October 2019 - Estimated delivery September 2020 - Miniatures produced February 2021 - Fulfillment of KS pledges to Europe May 2021 - North America retailers receive and sell games January 2022 - Miniatures arrive in North America April 2022 - Remaining parts arrive in North America April 2023 - GoFundMe launched to raise money to pay shipping fees October 2023 - Partial fulfillment of KS pledges to North America ASYNCRON games gives vague and misleading updates: they were "finalizing the process of shipping" for over a year. *February 2021 - "... preparations to send the pallets across the Atlantic are underway." *March 2021 - "We hope to gather the whole components in the next few weeks to be able to start shipping..." *May 2021 - "We are finalizing the execution of shipping..." *September 2021 - "...being prepared to be shipped out. Lord Miniatures are about to leave China." *November 2021 - "...miniatures from China are about to hit the US shores...the remaining parts are in imminent departure from France towards the US." *February 2022 - "We hope to be able to announce that the pallet will leave this week, once it arrives in the US, delivery will only take a few more days." *April 2023 - "We hope a first wave of shipments can take place next week." *May 2023 - per email "We'll should be able then to send the first wave next week." *June 2023 - "The first shipping wave should leave this week..." *October 2023 - some North American backers receive pledges

Exceedingly long, sometimes boring (fidly rules, that lead to lots of endless discussion) and repeatedly frustrating (random and stupid devastating events). I can see that this game can be interesting to many players, but definitely not for me. I only played because my friends were so eager to play it.
