Fief: France Edition
60m - 180m
2 - 5 Players
Ages 14+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.

Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

As same as Fief: Fracne 1429, but newer and more streamlined Note for myself: Pros: + A lot of Strategy and Diplomacy through alliances, marriages and negotiations + Fantastic component quality + Very thematical political and religious systems + Simple yet effective battle system + The Game makes a story which will be remembered + Has a very good fan made mode: A Song of Ice and Fief + Might be a good Game with following house Rules: 1) Assassinations always work, barring Secret Passage Cards 2) Limit building 1 mill per player per turn 3) All disaster cards discarded the first round. In subsequent rounds, discard duplicates of disaster cards. 4) Alliance victories are 5 VP (might change this at a six player count). 5) Remove one of the “fff” sides of the die / make it black. Cons: - Takes a few turns to get interesting - Only good for 5 and 6 players - Too long for what it is - a complicated and long but very random game which can be frustrating at times - Too much randomness for a long game - playing over 4 hours and the game revolves about nothing but luck. Random factors: 1. Desaster Cards / Plague Cards: Complete Player Elimination based on pure chance with no way to mitigate it 2. Male or Female Lord Cards determine whether or not you can make an alliance with another player 3. Fortune cards 4. Dice rolls Verdict: Fief isn’t a strategy game. At its best, it’s a fierce negotiation game with many random elements. The whole randomness is meant to be here and the outcomes of the Randomness should be eliminated through Negotiation /Diplomacy. Must have + A Song of Ice and Fief.

I enjoy a game like this that is rich in theme and political drama, but it's very difficult to teach. Many people struggled to grasp the nature of titles and now they interacted with the political machinations.

Asyncron is a terrible company that has been silent for more than 4.5 months since the games arrived in North America. Looks like a fraudulent KS
