Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
A delightful puzzle that requires a couple of friends to sink or swim together. Alternates between making you feel clever and dumb, so you're never quite certain of where you stand.
Rating based on a couple plays. The puzzle is interesting and the game is fast and small enough to easily squeeze in plays. It's not clear how much agency plays have though. It seems there is strategy in which cards to investigate but we're honestly not sure. The only negative so far really is that I feel like I would be much better at the game with better memory but I'm not sure that's intentional as perfect memory would tell you all the answers after you memorize all the art.
Really slick, sturdy, no frills packaging. Artwork and designs are clear and quality. Totally worth backing and postage cost. Can tell that the creator put his heart into it.
