Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

The greatest game for me ever. Have played about 50 times. Do not understand why it has so small score among other players

1st play: An interesting game, that is easy to introduce to non-gamers. There is some strategy to picking the right species and trying to make them thrive. I found myself wanting to make a carnivore all game and didn't really draw the card to do it. Most of the traits, it doesn't matter as much if you can't draw, but carnivore is such an important trait that I would like it better if I could freely choose carnivore or herbivore. The art is great and the theme makes sense though. 2nd play: I had no trouble getting Carnivore cards this time, and the game was more interesting for it. Overcoming other species' defenses can be a challenge, making carnivore a hard but rewarding creature type to play. There's more strategy than I initially gave it credit for.

Very good and very thematic game with a good playtime. Evolution unites a very clever mechanism that you feel like your species are getting evolved and there is a lot of interaction between players. The problem is that if not all the players pay attention at who is winning, this game can be frustrating. There is also the effect of: who the players think is winning, and push to hard to beat their species that this player is losing hard. Anyway, a very clear bash the leader system.
