Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
A time track mechanism is a variable player-turn order mechanism by which the player who is last on the time track goes next. The function of this mechanism can allow a player to have multiple sequential turns due to being last after each one.
Time Track
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

got the old version when I first came out. Was a hit in our group. Traded it away for something new. But when this kickstarter came out, I got this back

Rating after one struggling rules teach (unclear rulebook) and half a game play. Wow this is so good. With more played this could be a 10 game!

I had some high hopes for this one based on ratings and reviews I'd seen, and kind of left disappointed. It's not a bad game by any means. The Nile worker placement mechanic is pretty interesting, and the colored fields is unique. The strength of your workers and restrictions on who can do what feels overwrought at first, but eventually presents some challenging choices. There's also a nice worker placement tension built in as you decide whether to shoot downriver for a spot or wait it out and hope it circles back to you. I think my disappointment comes from it feeling very much a "rinse & repeat" game. That's maybe a little unfair because the cards do present some variation. But the rules complexity and setup to enjoyment ratio feels off. It honestly reminded me of Imhotep a lot but with more rules, and made me kinda wish I still owned that over this one. I don't think it'll stick around in my collection, but I'm glad I got to play it.
