Quick tile placement game with an interesting pawn movement. Very much feels like it belongs in the group of Abstract games I want to play when I reach my retirement.

Nice little strategic game. Easy enough to learn and challenging enough to maintain replayability. Although designed to be a relatively quick game to play (around 15-60 minutes), our games dragged and took much longer. When a couple of experienced equally matched strategic and tactical players are opposed the game reaches a point where it stagnates and there's little movement or action as when there are level 4 & 5 dice on the board, these protect adjacent dice and cannot be taken by an opponent creating blocked areas on the board. The only way to deal with these situations is to hope for a roll of the action die to allow you to move an apponents die. There is only one side of the action die that grants this ability so only a 1 in 6 chance of rolling it. This led to a quite frustrating stand off throughout the mid point of our games. With a few rule tweeks and adjustments to overcome the above stagnating game play this could be a really fun, quick and tactical game. These tweeks could be along the lines of making the level 1 die (the weakest and most vulnerable die) able to take level 4 & 5 die and in turn unable to be taken by level 4 & 5 die. Or perhaps including a rule where all level 5 die have to move 1 space each turn thus preventing players leaving them staining in one place protecting up to 8 dice surrounding it. All this said the game is novel and fun to play and for a first time publisher, well produced, designed and executed.

I really like this game. Met my excitement and I would thoroughly recommend it. Easy to learn and gonna be fun to learn the deeper strategy as we become more adept. A great travel game too. My wife and I will take this on our next long haul flight for sure.
