Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game
60m - 90m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 15+
The Campaign/Battle Card Driven mechanic is a relatively recent development in war games that focuses the players' actions on cards they have in their hand. The very basic idea is that performing a single action uses a single card. Games where cards are used to determine the outcome of battles do not use this mechanic.
Campaign / Battle Card Driven
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

This game is somewhat limited but it is fine. It is a decent experience, but it is not the kind of game that will get played 100+ times in its lifetime. If you are OK with only playing a game two or three times and you like the movie then it is worthwhile.

The trend of turning decades-old movies into games is mystifying, but I suppose it's welcome if done properly. Though I'm not convinced Die Hard has aged well, and I'm not eager to find out. As far as cinematic conversions go, the designers' loving flourishes are commendable. But the thieves' duties are too repetitious to be rewarding, especially for the game's length. This relegates Die Hard to a once-per-year holiday experience, similar to Polar Express and Mansions of Madness 2nd Ed (a Halloween favorite). If you're on the fence, here's the cost-per-play formula: (the cost of the game)/(years remaining until your death) My suggestion: Stay away from uncooked meats, questionable airlines, and mistresses/misters that cause your cuckolded spouse to dig into their weapons collection.

Die Hard: Nakatomi Heist is a treat for fans of the classic film or board games in general, and it captures the feel of the original film without using the license as an excuse to slack on design. The complex rules are well balanced, but can be a little daunting for more casual player, and definitely skew this to a more hobbyist crowd than other games from The op Full Review: https://www.thefandomentals.com/die-hard-the-nakatomi-heist-is-a-complex-game-for-fans/
