Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Tried only one(and a trade fair at that) and it did really nothing for me thematically, mechanically. components-wise or other. No interest in further trying for a full game whatsoever.

After 1 two-player game. Feels a bit like Orleans with dice? Mixture of area control, dice drafting, and worker placement. Some of the mechanics are really cool. On the other hand it seems very easy to trigger the end of game, making some actions more interesting than others. We ended the game without any house building for example.

Excellent. 4x game with dice-bag building. Multiple paths to victory. And the techs completely change up gameplay from one game to the next. Very short (too short?) game play at 75 minutes. Two plays so far: first game, the guy who rushed 5 houses won hugely. Second game, he did the same, but lost significantly to the guy who alone got 51 VPs points from trading. 3 plays in: haven't seen raid work yet. It costs so may fire icons to get tents. NB the deluxe edition comes with tents that are COMPLETELY useless. They are way too big to fit on the land hexes. And the size difference from one player colour to another look ridiculous. The dice bags are way too small. You can barely squeeze in two fingers to pull out a die.
