Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.

The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Easy to learn. Extremely replayable. Interesting balance between short and long term decisions when picking which tile (window) to place on your hotel. Some tiles will help you creating high scoring vine paths but other might help you build late game combos using the special guest windows.

Takes too long for what it is (primarily because the art makes it hard to see what's going on) and ultimately turns on tiny things like getting one more tile with flowers connected or getting two more points from a guest. Not at all exciting.
Overexposed
Light tile-laying "dominoes" game that actually gets pretty mathy and AP-y as it develops. Feels a like a cross between Kingdomino and Kodama, and maybe even Patchwork.
