Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Can't play without the newest rulebook. This game main mechanism look like very random. if your draw bad card, it hard to get opportunity to improve your species. The only chance is at last trick. Card have multi-function look cool, but the trait ability place on bottom not good to see. The icon not straightforward. Need player aids or better graph to descriptor it.

FIRST IMPRESSION: I'm not sure if the creatures who are low on the food chain can stand up to those who are far out in front on the food chain. Could be wrong and I do want to try as one low on the food chain but it does seem potentially more challenging. You may get more special powers out of the gate, but I'm not sure it balances out. I enjoy the aspect of trying to trick out your species and how all that plays out. Wish a player aid of the symbols on the cards could have been provided as well - we were constantly checking the rulebook to see what symbols were what powers. The catch where you don't want to have the high card for the final turn of each round also throws in a bit of a wrench at times.
