Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

1 play I will give it a seven but based on the possibilities this game has shown I think it will be a 8-8.5 Production is good. The theme is dumb. Why would I knowingly kill my own people. o-O

Possibly the best worker placement game of the past few years. I love that you don't have to worry about getting more workers (because you can't). The normally boring recall workers step is made exciting here by the way you can customize your platform and trigger up to 3 actions on a single turn. I like the cave exploration element, the vehicles, the colors, the overall retro sci-fi look of the entire presentation. I feel like this is a game that has gone under the radar for a lot of folks. The warping of the double-layer boards is a little annoying but nothing that a strip of rubber dishmat material couldn't fix. The tempo and arc of the game ramps up nicely towards the end also. Yeah, the theme is a little weird (why aren't we co-operating after this disaster?) but I wouldn't want this to be a co-op either, so that's fine.

Clever game which plays quickly and has some interesting interactions. You need to time the drone placement or when to get them back. I like the cards you can play in 3 different ways which makes for tricky decisions ! Also the quality of the components is quite nice with dual layer and plastic drones.
