Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

I enjoyed my first play of this game but after a few more plays I am frustrated by the amount of time it takes to build up to anything and just when you are getting something going, the game ends.

Unsure. I think it is complex and has a few unique concepts. But I'm unsure because of that complexity. I need to play at least a few more times. However, I'm reluctant because the first play was hard fought in the teach and didn't create a memorable experience. So the next play will likely still be like the first. I think it might be too much, too distinct (is that a fault?), for me. I would be willing to play again if someone else would teach me.

There's a lot going on with this game, including a lot of ways to be clever. It's not _as_ heavy as I'd feared, but it's still a lot of puzzling to make your turn work. I am very far from feeling that I've cracked the game, or even have a reliable strategy for winning. So far I've only played this as a 2-player game, so my rating is still very tentative, but I think it might creep up a bit when I get to know it better.
