This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

I just love the "corruption" mechanic in games. This game is 2/3 toy and 1/3 game, but it has more game than let's say... Fireball Island. The corruption mechanic also brings it out as a decent game for me.

I was excited to try it after the hype, but overall I wasn't impressed. It was fine, but the overproduction just got in the way of what was only a mediocre game in the first place. I'd play it again but wouldn't request it or seek it out. Granted I've only played 2 player so it might be better with more.

Paid a small fortune to get the "Deluxe" version. Ended up with bent plastic and a mediocre game. Lots of people got subpar quality games delivered, just because there didn't seem to be any quality check before the game left the factory. And Mojito Studios blamed anything but themselves for the fiasko... Anyway... After two playthroughs the game got stashed where the sun don't shine. Ps. Mojito Studios gotta be the worst company to make Kickstarter campaigns. Everything about them is just... "off". Cleopatra was my first and definitely last project I will support from Mojito Studios.
