Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Halfway through the game the winner was obvious we couldn't do anything about it and I really couldn't wait for it to end. Very boring unengaging and too chaotic. I would only play this again at gunpoint. Nice artwork, components and ideas but very bad execution.

Can get brain fatigue playing this game, but overall, quite enjoyable; if you like 7 wonders, this game has similar elements

Deck building game with area control by Ryan Laukat. + Artwork + Components + Action selection (build, draw, store, attack, research, tax, expert action) + Deck building for 2 different decks: economy and military + Cards are used to match certain symbols to do actions like claiming land or building a building + A lot of control over decks: discard cards in any order, draw deck can be looked at every time + Area control (attack neutral lands to claim them, can be attacked by other players as well, but it is harder) + Lands grant end game scoring objectives # Tight economy requires focused play (all about efficiency, each resource and each turn counts) # Players draw from their own draw pool and can choose any of the 21 cards
