This game turns a rather simple tug-of-war mechanism, adds some really neat ideas to manipulate the outcome, and adds one of the coolest themes I've ever seen in a board game. The actions you get each turn are seldom enough for what you want to do, but there's a lot of stuff you can get done with those. Also, once you start upgrading your actions, those can get really powerful, really fast... just make sure you've got enough resources to pay for your enhanced actions. The artwork is fantastic. Most of the components are great too, with all of them being of a nice large size (although the cards in my copy arrived a little bit warped, unfortunately), and quite sturdy. But more than that, the artwork nails the theme all over the place. The game can be played with 2 players fine, although it's better with 2 teams of 2. I haven't tried it with 3 players.

(Feb 2019) This one is...alright. It's biggest issue for me is just how unintuitive the rules are. Part of the reason I have only played it once is because I know I will have to relearn the rules to get it back to the table. And for anyone who's never played before this rules teach is long. Another negative is how the game feels like a lot of actions for not a lot of payoff. It just doesn't feel like it builds up to anything. Lastly, the player count aspect makes this game feel like it really should be a 2p game. At the odd number counts you're playing the Balance race which I have my doubts about. At 4 it's 2v2 and works alright but at 5 and 6 I can see this taking way too long. This is all based off just one play so take this with a grain of salt but of the three Mindclash games I do know for sure it's the one I'm least interested in playing. (January 2020): 6.5 => 5 Dropping this one down mostly because as time has passed I just have no desire to play this again and I have to rate it honestly. Not only would relearning the convoluted rules be a big hurdle, but the game just is meh. It's very eye catching and great components but the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

My number one top game. I love its complexity, once you learn, everything is intuitive and exciting. The solo mode is also great in case you cannot find a good gaming group. I have played many games, and at the end all “copy” in some way previous mechanisms. However, Cerebria is the most original game I know, completely different to the rest of the games. The level of interaction and the way of forcing you to change your strategy to adapt to the new conditions are just brilliant. Replayability is almost infinite. Art is wonderful. Theme is excellent (emotions) and different to the typical euro themes (boring monsters, warriors, zombies, Egypt, lovecraft, islands, space…). This is, no doubt, a unique game, a treasure that I cannot recommend more (if you like complex games). Solo is excellent, it provides with the feeling that you are playing against another person, which is brilliant since this is, in a high degree, an area control game. But if you do not like complex games (especially for the solo version), better look for another game (most negative reviews of this game are coming from people who complain about the complexity and play medium weigh euros as most).
