In Action Point (AP) Allowance System games, each player is allotted a certain amount of points per round. These points can be spent on available actions, until the player does not have enough remaining to "purchase" any more actions.
Action Point Allowance System
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

It's a lot of fun playing the balance faction. Not yet sure how balanced the aspirations are compared to the ones of bliss and gloom, but if you manage to get the required number of players together this expansion is awesome!

This expansion adds the minis - which is great - but also the third and the sixth player. I would never play this game with more than 4, though - the downtime is really bad, and the number of player's turns does not increase. On the other hand, with this expansion it becomes a valid 3-player game, where the forces of balance have their own agenda and the tug-of-war becomes even more interesting.

Preprinted minis edition. Cerebria is an appropriate name, as the game is super heavy IMO; perhaps the heaviest I own. It's heavy in complexity, not so much in the volume of choices you face. It's a game that asks you to invest in it. If you do, you'll get a solid return in your experience. The art is wonderful, as are the minis. The concepts are fun and interesting. This game certainly is not for everyone. And although I nowhere near like this one as much as the publisher's other main titles (Anachrony and Trickerion), I still quite enjoy Cerebria.
