Card Games
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Unique card game with a lot of player interaction and interesting mechanics with a mixed resource/point scoring system. Will need more plays at different player counts to get a better idea.

? Game explanation: Cerebria: The card game is a card game about thoughts (happiness and gloom) based on the complex board game Cerebria. The goal is to earn enough points to win by playing cards and performing actions. The first player to succeed in this wins the game. All cards are shuffled and 3 rows of cards are made (the number of players + 2 per row), and each player gets 4 hand cards. On your turn, you perform 2 actions, you may decide the order and you may perform an action 2x. You can take a card from 1 of the rows, the card is immediately replenished from the same row. Or you play a card from your hand. When you play a card, you immediately receive fragments that you place on the card. The card is now available to perform a special action, this does cost you a fragment (you can steal cards from other players, discard or trade cards). You may have a maximum of 4 cards in front of you, if you want to place another card, you will have to discard another card. If a row of cards is empty because a player has taken a card, the game stops temporarily. All the fragments on your cards go to your personal supply. The cards are discarded and each player makes sure they have 4 cards in hand again. The fragments in your personal stock allow you to win. You must have 7 of both colours, or 12 of 1 colour. If you have this first, you win. ⭐ Our review: Cerebria looks great and has a cool theme! The game has a lot of cards that are all equally colourful. The rules are very clearly laid out and the actions you can do are clear. We already thought Cerebria was a cool game, but this version makes the game more accessible and easier to take with you. Really a game to play on holiday. Are you curious about Cerebria's board game? Then check out our review via the website.
