Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

This may get that [b]Splendor[/b]-killer title. It's longer and slightly more complicated than that one, but it's also more satisfying with engine-building. Great production all-around!

Between this and Splendor, I choose this. We can play up to 5 player when Splendor only 4. More in depth strategy and doesn't make the gameplay really tense in a bad way.

A fantastic engine-building, short game! I really love the goal and how the engine-building is integrated with the choices players make. My only annoyance is that there's no balance in the cards - some are strictly better than others. This means: (1) Your strategy is dictated by the cards available to you. (2) Your ultimate success may be contingent on you getting "better" cards than the other players. There's definitely some strategy involved, but if one player can play a card for 4x yellow cubes and another can only get 2x cubes for a single play, which one is definitively in a better position? It is short enough, and fun enough, that I'm willing to put up with the above. Play, have fun, move on to the next.
