In Caral all players take on the role of master builders, creating pyramids in a rhythmic cycle of years while influencing the duration of each cycle. The unique progress rhythm allows players to put pressure on each other. Will you master the well-interlocked mechanics in order to win?
During the game we find ourselves over 4500 years in the past, competing against each other and experiencing ancient Caral in its heyday.
Caral will surprise you with a fresh gaming experience! What starts out very simple, develops surprisingly complex. For example, Alpacas and resource cards allow you more flexibility on the spiral path. But sacrificing valuable cards in the annual ceremony can give you great advantages over fellow players. It’s all a matter of tactics!
Make Caral your very own game with different modules that allow you to increase game complexity as desired (chronicle style)—turning Caral into a game you can enjoy with your family and with experienced gamers alike.

3 play without modules at 4 players : Rly a good euro-game, very easy to learn no need to re read the rules during the game , good material et very clear iconography, good imersion in thema. 1 h to play without th 7 mn of game explanation. very short down time. Even i i only play at 4 , i think it's good at 2 and 3..And i love this game play : a racing and timing game with that architect who push you back and players who decide the end of the turn. several strategie to choose. And even if i don't play modules yet, i guess thoses add a vry good variability , life time and allow you to adjust the game to your player group. i can't wait to play more.

I am puzzled by this one. It is a tight efficiency game, with a lot of interaction possible. But is dressed up with a very basic innocuous rulebook which seems to be trying to hide the difficulties of the game; to the extent that it is hard to learn the game from the rulebook - you have to play your first game before you realise the nature of it. The Deluxe version has wonderful pyramids and llama, and with all the extra modules it has a lot going for it. Just not sure how many are going to break-through the learning to get to the game beyond.
