15m - 40m
1 - 4 Players
Ages 10+
Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This is a great sequel that has much more replayability. The first game was fine but after a while you would understand the nuances and there wouldn't be much that is different between games. The new edition has 5 variations of each of the types which creates tons of different ways to play. Really solid.

This game gave me levels of brain burn that I haven't felt in a long time. Hyper thinky game where you have four suits of cards each with an individual power, and your goal is to get the highest value tableau without busting. You can either play cards in front of you or play them to the middle (which increases the bust-cap for everyone and allows you to use the power). There are some fairly nasty thing you can do in this game. Lots of player power combinations should keep this fresh for a very long time.

This is a reimplementation and then some of the original Capital Lux. Along with the four capital powers that came in the first game, this edition includes a bunch of new powers. The ability to mix and match powers allows for a lot more variability than in the original game. This seems to mean that there is basically no reason to consider buying Capital Lux over Capital Lux 2.
Backed the Pocket version in the Capital Lux 2: Generations Kickstarter campaign.
