Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

A very good game pretty much ruined by a terrible production by Aporta Games. The card quality is just awful, the cards are a non-standard size, the game box is thin, cardboard components are fine but not great - a real bummer because the game and art by Kwanchai Moriya are great. I'm also not sure the new additions to the game are an improvement. Sometimes less is more.

Very cool mix of manipulating the shared limit and leveraging powerful abilities. Lots of tough trade-offs and calculated risks when considering where to play cards and in what order to play them. Perhaps a touch swingy at times, though not a major issue for a game of this length. Variability among power cards is excellent and really changes the landscape of the game. Cardstock is poor and the "pocket" edition neither fits in your pocket nor fits all of the game components unless you're a barbarian who throws everything loose into the box.

Positives: Steamlined gameply. Cool bonuses that interact differently depending on which you use (16 total in the box and only 4 used each game). Relatively small table footprint for a card tableau game. Lots of interesting interaction. Pretty simple to teach. Negative: Could get samey if played ad nauseum, even with the 16 total powers. Could definitely. develop a meta game around certain powers with the same group which I find annoying sometimes. I don't love the graphic design. Overall: Capital Lux 2 is a very solid up and almost expansion to the base game. If you liked the original or if you like simple card games with a little bit of depth and player powers then this could be the game for you.
