The rulebook is one of the worst I've read. We had to look at the rules, FAQ and gears/thief description all the time and some questions were left unanswered.

Feels like a game made by gamers who don't realise how complicated the decision space of the game is. Poorly worded/ presented rules, would really benefit from an example of play. Game production is lovely, of course, keymaster... There's a lot of potential in the game for relatability as players get to know the subtleties of the game and become comfortable with the iconography. I can see impressions improving with more plays as the intricacies of the game are recognised and leveraged, but for this to be satisfying an opponent equal in experience of the game is required. Some awkward iconography and poor rule book coupled with a game full of subtlety makes this quite a frustrating first play experience. Still,I can see potential and will like to play again... as long as it's with someone that knows the game already.

I thought this game was too beautiful to be any good--that maybe all the money went to the artwork. I was wrong! Clever interactions between thieves and their gear lead to unique games. It's a little cumbersome with a full board to decipher how much power each player has, but it's worth it!
