This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

We didn't finish this game. Not necessarily because it was abysmal, but because this day there quite a few other new games we wanted to try out. The action mechanism with the wooden blocks seemed quite interesting, however, actually playing it we all had the impression that it was quite confusing.

Not sure this will ever be a ten for me, as it lacks a bit of excitement, but it deserves to be rated higher by the public. HOWEVER i realized after Teotihuacan that i am a sucker for building large 3D objects in my euros. This game doesnt get enough credit for how different your income is handled. Quite possibly the most innovative and unique ways to earn money i have seen. Love that they made the island control and the cloth maker area, which are basically two thirds of this game, a dogfight. A euro where two thirds of the game is a dogfight??!?!???! YES PLEASE My only criticism i can think of at the moment, is that the town building turns into a standoff here and there. Like Dominations or the heroes in Thunderstone, i suppose this is fine but i wish there was more to do while your waiting for the standoff to resolve and your opponents to make the first move. Maybe needed more excitement outside of building. Love this game. Criminally underrated

I rated this a 6 in 2022, based mostly on memory since I had not played it in years. After trying it again in 2024, I am bumping my rating to a 6.5. I think the core optimization puzzle of the game is quite satisfying, with different and interesting paths to victory. The cube pyramid mechanism feels genuinely fresh even after the game has been on the shelf for years, and I like the way that you have to think about both where to put the cubes for building houses, and what actions you want to trigger. However, the game is held back by a number of things: - The color accessibility is quite poor. I used a stamp to mark some components because it was otherwise impossible for me to tell them apart. -The board is busy and the graphic design and iconography are small and unclear. - The components were pretty terrible. Punchboards tore easily. Coins and worker chits are hard to pick up and blend in with the busy surroundings. Re-use of worker chits for scoring, tracks, and area majority make it harder to parse visually. - There are minimal opportunities to mitigate the randomness of the card draw, distribution of actions by cube color, and roof tiles. This can lead to really unsatisfying turns.
