Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Biobuster1
fun yet fairly simple game with some cool interactions. biggest complaint is the player powers do not feel balanced, but those are optional.

Good mix of area control / worker placement. I know some people aren't a fan of the take take that elements but I don't mind. What I really want is an expansion someday

Can see what other reviews are saying regarding this feeling pretty vanilla with some take that. The fact that everything has a potential benefit makes it hard to plan. There are also so many potion types that just when you think you’re clever and lock down a region, someone drinks a potion that flips a dice face, that allows them to place in the village and get more resources, which allows and another potion that removes a dice in the region in play and blows away your good fortune. It’s a beautiful game and the production is very well done. But, it’s one of those where it feels like it doesn’t matter what lever you pull or dial you turn, it’s all gonna happen regardless. There’s never a sense that my poor play lost me the game, just someone else’s random selections pushed them slightly ahead.
